Patient Mobile Apps: About Me Autism App

The About Me autism app, supported by the Health Tech Challenge fund, offered digitisation of the paper version of ‘About Me’ document. This was designed to support children and young people with autism to input personal information about their conditions, personal likes and dislikes, emergency contact details and health related educational information. Instead of carrying a paper folder, the data was digitally carried to share with the multidisciplinary professionals they come across during their journey through life. The alert flagging supported clinicians and carers to deal appropriately with such youngsters.

The app was launched by Aneurin Bevan Health Board on 3rd November 2016 in the presence of Rebecca Evans AM, Minister for Social Services and Public Health and Judith Paget the Chief Executive officer of ABUHB.

The Autism Personal App is free to download from the Google Play store on any Android device.
