SymlConnect Winter 2018 student placement
During December 2018 SymlConnect secured a further student placement through the GoWales Scheme. Luke Hengstenberg is a third year Computer Science degree student studying at Swansea Univeristy. SymlConnect were suitably impressed with Luke’s positive ‘can do’ attitude, he was able to immediately start working on an ongoing project working individually and alongside our in-house development team, and effectively contributed to internal development meetings.
MediWales Innovation Awards 2018
We are delighted to announce that SymlConnect Ltd won the industry award for Partnership with the NHS at the MediWales Innovation Awards 2018, held at the National Museum Cardiff on December 4th.
The award was presented in recognition of our All Wales Maternity Record application, a digital version of the paper-based maternity form was produced after two years of partnership with midwives in Powys. The application has been developed to improve care for mothers, ensuring that communication is streamlined and that all relevant information is available at the time and place that a woman receives care. We would like to thank all of the SymlConnect team for their hard work and dedication to the project, Marie Lewis – Consultant Midwife & Assistant Director for Innovation and Improvement at Powys Teaching Health Board, and all of the additional midwives that attended the focused demonstration sessions for their time and essential feedback.
