Research And Development Projects:
Microneedle ECG Research

An ongoing novel ECG signal capturing project, aiming to develop a minimally invasive Microneedles-based wearable wireless device for remote cardiac monitoring. SymlConnect is collaborating with Cardiff University and Tyndall National Institute as part of a CALIN (Celtic Advanced Life Science Innovation Network) funded programme, with the initial feasibility and concept goal of acquiring a signal through dry electrodes producing encouraging results. The project is aimed at improving ECG monitoring in the elderly population, a trace signal refinement challenge to which Syml and its partners have risen to take a disruptive approach. The development of a wireless device coupled with Syml’s core digital remote communication framework opens up the global third-party device market for further expansion.
